MacPeek Remote Terms of Service
Last updated 27 October 2026.
Draft. MacPeek Remote is not released yet, so these terms are not in effect. This page is published so it can be reviewed; it applies only from the day MacPeek Remote goes on sale.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal business name], [Registered business address, India] ("we", "us"). They coverMacPeek Remote: the console apps, the MacPeek account, the relay that reaches your Macs from anywhere, and sync (together, "the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept them.
The free MacPeek app, including the Remote management agent built into it, is open-source software under theMIT license. That license, not these terms, governs MacPeek itself.
2. Our reseller, Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy a subscription you also accept Paddle's buyer terms, and Paddle charges and collects any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, and able to make a binding agreement.
- An account is for one person. Keep your email account, passkeys, signed-in devices and recovery key safe: anyone who has them can use your account.
- Tell us at [support email] if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Free trial
New accounts get one 14-day free trial with every feature. No payment details are needed to start it. A trial is available once per person and per Mac. When it ends, the console stops connecting to your Macs until you subscribe; nothing you set up is deleted for 90 days.
5. Subscriptions, renewals and price changes
- MacPeek Remote is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription for a number of Macs. The current prices and what each plan includes are on the pricing page and shown at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the console's account settings or from Paddle's receipt email; the subscription then runs to the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew.
- Adding Macs beyond your plan's allowance adds them to your subscription; Paddle charges the prorated difference.
- We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a price change applies to your subscription. If you do not agree, cancel before it applies.
- If a payment fails, Paddle will retry it. If it still fails, the subscription lapses as described in section 4.
6. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund policy.
7. Using the Service responsibly
You may use the Service only with Macs you own or are authorized to manage, and only in ways that are lawful where you and those Macs are. In particular you must not:
- use it to watch or control a Mac, or the person using it, without the authority to do so;
- try to get into another person's account or Macs, or to break or get around the Service's security;
- overload, disrupt or abuse the relay or the API, or use them to carry traffic that is not MacPeek's;
- resell the Service, or share one account among several people (Teams is the plan for that, when it is available).
Actions such as quitting a process or freeing a port are carried out on the Mac you choose, after you confirm them. You are responsible for the actions you take through the Service.
8. Your data and its encryption
Our Privacy policy explains what we collect and why. What your Macs send to your consoles, and what the Service syncs between your devices (your Macs' names and settings, tags, alert rules and history), is end-to-end encrypted: we store and route it but cannot read it. That also means we cannot recover it for you. If you lose every signed-in device and your recovery key, you can still sign in and keep your subscription, but you will need to pair your Macs again, and synced data may be lost.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service running, but it is provided without a guaranteed uptime, and it may be interrupted for maintenance or by events outside our control. The Service works on your local network without our servers for up to 14 days at a time. We may change or improve features; if we remove a significant feature you rely on, you may cancel and ask for a refund of the unused part of your current period.
10. Intellectual property
The console apps and the Service belong to us. While your subscription or trial is active we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them under these terms. MacPeek itself remains under the MIT license.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the console. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it; unless we are prevented from doing so, we will tell you why and, if the problem can be fixed, give you a chance to fix it. If we end the Service as a whole, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
12. Disclaimers and limits of liability
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Apart from that: the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost data, or for loss caused by actions you take through the Service on your Macs. Our total liability to you for any claim about the Service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a change that affects you materially we will email you at least 30 days before it applies; if you do not agree, you may cancel before then. The date at the top shows the latest version.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of [City], India. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in its courts.
