SleepPeek: Find out why your Mac isn't sleeping.

Why isn't my Mac sleeping?

The problem

Your Mac will not go to sleep, or wakes in the night. Something is holding it awake, but which process, and why, is hidden in pmset output.

The solution

SleepPeek lists the active sleep assertions and the processes holding them, and can load recent sleep and wake events with the reason macOS logged. Every statement is labelled: “Reported by macOS” for what the system says, “Likely (inference)” for a common explanation. It is read-only and never changes a power setting.

Features

How it works

  1. Open SleepPeek from the launcher.
  2. See what is currently blocking sleep and what macOS says about it.
  3. Load the recent sleep and wake history when you want it.

Installation

SleepPeek is part of MacPeek. Install MacPeek, open Manage utilities and make sure SleepPeek is switched on (it is on by default). There is nothing separate to download.
