Managing utilities

Choose which MacPeek utilities are on: read what each one reads and needs, switch it on or off, and why a disabled utility does no work.

Updated

Open Manage utilities from the launcher footer or from Settings.

What you see

Every utility MacPeek knows about, each with:

  • its name and one-line purpose, and an Available or Coming soon state
  • an on/off switch (disabled for utilities that are not released yet)
  • Learn more: the question it answers, what it does, what it reads from your Mac and what access it needs

What on and off mean

  • On: the utility appears in the launcher. It may take one quick snapshot when the popover opens, to fill in its one-line launcher summary, and it refreshes continuously only while you have its screen open.
  • Off: it disappears from the launcher and does no work at all: no polling, no scanning, no timers.
  • Your choices are saved on your Mac. Utilities released in a future version appear switched on by default, and you can switch them off.

Coming soon

BatteryPeek (battery health and cycle count) is still in development. It is listed so you can see what is planned, and cannot be switched on until it ships. See the overview and all utilities.
